Privacy Policy and Affiliate Disclosure
Effective 23 Sept 2026 · Wiki of Things (wikiofthings.com)
This policy explains what data Wiki of Things collects, why, and what your choices are. Plain English, no walls of legalese.
What We Collect
- Usage analytics: we use Google Analytics (via Google’s Site Kit) to see which pages are read and how visitors find the site. This includes your approximate location (country/city), device type, and the pages you visit. We use this only to improve the site.
- Standard server logs: our hosting provider records technical data (IP address, browser, timestamp) for security and troubleshooting, as is standard for every website.
- Contact form messages: if you message us through the contact form, we keep your message and email address to reply and to track corrections. We never send unsolicited email or sell your address.
Cookies
Analytics cookies help count visits anonymized. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them.
Affiliate Disclosure
Some pages contain affiliate links, marked as such. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission from the seller (for example, Amazon), at no extra cost to you. This does not change what we recommend: recommendations follow manufacturer specifications, not commissions. Affiliate programs we participate in have their own privacy policies; when you click an affiliate link, that program’s policy applies to your data.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
- We do not run third-party advertising networks beyond what is disclosed above (if display advertising is added later, this policy will be updated first).
- We do not require accounts, logins, or newsletters to read anything.
Your Rights
Depending on your region (including GDPR in the EU/UK and CCPA in California), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Send your request through the contact page and we will comply promptly.
Children
Wiki of Things is a general-audience reference site and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new effective date. Material changes (for example, adding advertising) are highlighted on the site before they take effect.
