How to Reset a Blink Sync Module (All 4 Models)

Before resetting, Blink’s documentation says to work through the Sync Module troubleshooting steps first, because a reset returns the module to setup mode and any cameras relying on it drop offline until it is re-added. If the problem persists, the reset below is the official path.
Sync Module 2, XR and Core: The Back Button
Hold until solid red ~2 min
- Find the reset button on the back of the module, next to the USB port.
- Press and hold it until the LED turns solid red, then release.
- Wait for blinking blue with solid green: that pattern means the module is ready to be set up again in the Blink app.
- Re-add it through the app’s + Add Device flow; your cameras rejoin the system afterward.
1st Generation Sync Module: The Side Button
Paperclip until it clicks ~2 min
- The reset button sits on the side of the module, next to the USB port.
- Press it with a paperclip until you feel a click.
- Follow the same app flow to set the module up again.
What a Sync Module Reset Changes
A reset puts the module back into setup mode: it stays tied to your Blink account until you delete it, but cameras stored on or scheduled through it (including Local Storage USB footage on Sync Module 2) will pause while it is offline. Re-adding the module restores the system without deleting clips already saved to the USB drive.
Questions People Ask
Where is the Reset Button on a Blink Sync Module 2?
On the back of the module, next to the USB port. Hold it until the LED turns solid red, release, and wait for blinking blue with solid green to confirm it is ready for setup.
What Do the Sync Module Lights Mean After a Reset?
Solid red while holding the button means the reset registered; blinking blue plus solid green means setup mode; the module is ready to be added again in the Blink app.
Will Resetting My Sync Module Delete My Clips?
No. Clips already saved to a USB drive on Sync Module 2 stay on the drive. The reset only returns the module to setup mode; re-adding it restores the system.
